Description
Growing Manufacture/ Distributor in the food industry is seeking a qualified National Account Manager to oversee and grow large retail clients. Position based in Los Angeles Marketplace.
Responsibilities:
- Manages assigned sales territory to achieve assigned quotas.
- Maintain existing accounts and develop new accounts.
- Regularly meets with major headquarter accounts, or multi-unit accounts and brokers.
- Develop business plans, negotiate commitments and secure purchase orders.
- Build relationships with account personnel including top management.
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Prepares and submits sales reports that provide detailed and relevant information that headquarters management needs to make important decisions regarding competitive threats, pricing, sales and marketing programs and availability.
- Presents the proposal and negotiates price, terms, and conditions with customer.
- Follows up with buying influences
- Attends meetings with buyers, brokers, retail headquarters
- Create, sustaining and renewing client contracts and review contract terms.
- Identifies issues with accounts and works with the appropriate internal and external parties to effectively communicate and resolve matters.
- Prepares and submits monthly rolling sales forecast reports.
- Solicits customer information/feedback and uses it to improve business and service level.
- Services the customer and develops collaborative relationships at all levels
- Plans customer’s business on an annual/quarterly/monthly basis
- Communicate to sales team and other functions within the company
Job Requirements
- A minimum BA/BS degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in related field
- National Account Manager experience is a must.
- Must be able to travel nationally (more than 50%)
- Selling to Retail store chain is a must
- Must demonstrate sales planning, forecasting, and sales execution experience
- Well developed organizational communication skills and management skills.
- Ability to work in corporate office and overnight travel as needed.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required
- Proficient in spreadsheet and presentation software
- Must show proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups.
- Must show aptitude to effectively interpret and use multiple information sources to develop customer-specific tactical plans and options.
- Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
