A leading medical device company is expanding its commercial organization and needs a Marketing Manager to help build a new business unit. This new venture will operate within a highly capitalized, profitable medical technology company active in over 100 countries around the world. The positive corporate culture has provided an annual employee attrition rate of less than 7% (most from retirements) and the dynamic work environment means their commercial teams have unusually strong personal chemistry. With revenue growing at greater than 10% annually, they now need a strategic marketing professional for new product planning and portfolio management in the hospital market.
Responsibilities:
As Marketing Manager of the Hospital Business Unit you will have the opportunity to create and implement strategic plans for a new line of medical devices used to treat diabetes in the institutional setting. This is a newly created, broadly defined role where you will help build an entirely new business venture in the hospital market. Working with leading-edge technology that has no direct competition you will provide commercial direction to product development teams and lead product planning activities in the institutional setting. This is classic “upstream marketing” where you will serve as the voice of the customer, working closely with Key Opinion Leaders and the sale force to understand clinical trends, and physician and patient needs.
Specific duties for this high-profile assignment include market research and analytics, budgeting, forecasting, and project management. You will recommend product strategies and enhancements and monitor competitive activities. The small size of this new team means that you will “wear many hats” in this broadly defined role. You will also work cross-functionally with a broad range of different departments, including Market Development, Regulatory, Managed Care and Sales. The Manager will be expected to get buy-in for new ideas and drive new programs internally. A rapidly expanding organization means significant opportunity exists for senior management and career development - we are looking to hire someone who can advance at least two levels within the organization during the course of their career.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following qualities needed for success in this role:
- 8+ years of work experience
- 5+ years of in-house marketing experience in either the Medical Device, Biotech, Diagnostic or Pharmaceutical industry
- New product planning, upstream marketing or portfolio management experience in the medical technology industry
- Bachelor’s degree or better; MBA preferred
- Strong analytical and presentations skills

BONUS: 15%
