Asia Pulp & Paper, a leading international paper company, is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Corporate PR and Sustainability Manager


The APP Corporate PR and Sustainability Manager will be responsible for managing the overall Corporate PR and sustainability efforts of the Company in the area the person is in charge and report  to APP-Indonesia in Jakarta and China HQ in Shanghai.

The person will be working with cross functional and multinational teams to meet the corporate PR and sustainability goals to enhance the brand reputation and to work with APP-Indonesia and China to create a favorable business environment in the responsible area.
 
This particular person will be tasked to focus on helping build and maintain good and close relationship with relevant stakeholders in the area, including but not limited to media and environmental organizations as well as other official organizations that may assist the company to further enhance the reputation and sales in the market.
 
Requirements:

We are looking for an individual with BA or BS degree in PR, journalism, or business/marketing field, and a minimum of 7 years working experience. The person must be able to travel, work with a team and in a fast paced environment. Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills are required.  The capability to supervise and work with PR agency will be a plus, while previous background in forestry and paper industry will be preferable.

Other requirements include: proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Database and PowerPoint, ability to work professionally with flexibility in handling multiple priorities. This position requires a results-oriented individual who has exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, excellent communication and grammatical skills, planning, and scheduling skills.

 

Some of the major duties include:

• In line with the overall strategies and plans of APP-Indonesia and China, managing, executing, and tracking APP corporate PR and sustainability goals and metrics to further enhance the business in the market.  


• Working closely with the assigned PR agency, relevant APP Branch Offices and providing supervision and coordination to implement the strategy and plan; identifying and liaising with the media to promote pro-active media plans and campaigns (including AD plan if needed) to drive positive media coverage and consumer awareness and reporting the progress on a regular basis.


• Reaching out to government agencies and paper industry associations, as well as philanthropic and not-for-profit organizations and developing engagement programs.


• Assisting in managing and developing sustainability communications internally and externally with key stakeholders to promote APP’s practices in sustainability.  


• Conducting industry research to enhance understanding of sustainability trends, thought leaders, and conferences.


• Coordinating cross functional task force teams to assist the sales team in developing their key performance indicators and meeting the overall corporate sustainability goals.


• Compiling all metric data to show yearly results of meeting performance goals.
