Founded in 1967, The Saban Free Clinic is the oldest continuously operating free clinic in the nation.  The Clinic provides free medical and dental care and social services to the uninsured and working poor people of Los Angeles.  Through its high standard of care and partnerships with organizations such as Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Children’s Hospital, and the UCLA School of Dentistry, the Clinic provides over 84,000 patient visits throughout its four sites each year.

 

 

 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the financial management of the Clinic and oversight of units that support this and other back-office functions.  These include Accounting, Finance, Billing, Facilities/ Property Management and Information Systems and Technology.  As a member of the Executive Team, the CFO participates in the development of strategic priorities.  The CFO works with the Finance Committee, Investment Committee and IT/Facilities of the Clinic.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting finance or related area required. CPA, MBA or MFA preferred.




2. Solid accounting/finance experience with a minimum of four years in a similar senior management position in a non-profit setting required.




3. Prior FQHC/330 experience helpful




4. Ability to inspire confidence and to work collaboratively.




5. Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting principles, including fund accounting.




6. Prior experience in operation of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing and accounting software. Must have experience in development of Boolean Statements to design reports and obtain correct information from database.




7. Must be bondable.




8. Demonstrated ability to be precise and efficient in preparing reports.




9. Ability to communicate accounting, budgetary and financial information in a clear, organized manner to individuals without accounting backgrounds.




10. Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.




11. Demonstrated ability to respond with sensitivity to people of diverse cultures and various lifestyles.
